Dan came to the US in 1967 following three years of service in the Israeli Airforce.
He came to Los Angeles in order to study theatre arts.
He subsequently graduated UCLA with a Master’s degree in Motion Pictures.
Since then he has written, produced and directed many short documentary and educational films.
For fifteen years he directed and hosted a half hour weekly television show, which was syndicated in eighty eight cities throughout the United States and Canada.
His writing credits extend beyond Theatre and film. Dan has published several poetry books and novels. He is an established lyricist, having written countless songs.
Dan’s love for the theatre and film goes back to his childhood years.
He grew up in Haifa, only a few short blocks from the city’s main theatre. As a young boy, he used to spend long hours in and around that stage.
One of Dan’s most recent successes is a comedy he wrote called “Orgasms”, dealing with the differences between men and women. It ran for two years both in LA and off Broadway NY, and was translated into several languages and played in at least thirteen countries.
The current project “Papa” is a script Dan wrote based on his own novel by the same name. He was inspired by true events.
Dan is married for over 40 happy years to Zahava, a prominent clinical psychologist with a post doctorate in sexual dysfunctions. The two of them have three children and eight grandchildren.
